The Cantina Berritta in Dorgali is a small family winery located in Sardinia, one of the two main island of Italy. Antonio and Francesco Berritta operate an 11 hectare estate, which has been the family’s property for several generations. Previously, the grapes were sold to the local cooperative, but then they decided to make their own wine. The vineyards a cultivated following biologic principles. They are located on a high plateau, about 200 meters above sea level, a few kilometers from the eastern coast of Sardinia. The Cannonau and the few Panzale, a very rare grape, vines are of an almost canonical age. On some plots, the average age of the vines could be around 70 or 80 years. On these 11 hectares, the Cantina Berritta produces a very limited harvest:of around 30,000 bottles of Cannonau di Sardegna.
