The Cantina Fasol Menin of Valdobbiadene of is a small prosecco producer with a vineyard of 10 hectares. This winery is located in the middle of the vineyards south of the town Valdobbiadene, in the North-East of Italy.
The story of Cantina Fasol Menin of Valdobbiadene is linked to the second life of a couple who bought prosecco vineyards little by little before founding this estate in the late 90s. It produces three types of proseccos and some still wines, both red and white in Piave DOC appelation. The yearly production is approximately 150’000 bottles. The owners speak English perfectly if you want to visit them.
Wines tasted:
* Cama Brut 2017, Valdobbiadene DOCG, Prosecco Superiore Brut: lemony and green apple flavors, elegant and mineral mouth (July 2019).
* Leonte Extra Dry 2017, Valdobbiadene DOCG, Prosecco Superiore: lemony and green apple flavors, with a little more amplitude and sweetness in the mouth than the Brut version (July 2019).
* Leonte Extra Dry 2018, Valdobbiadene DOCG, Prosecco Superiore: found this bottle bought in 2024 in my cellar 5 years after my visit. Nice perfumes of muscat grapes associated with aromas of green apple in the palate. (July 2024)
* Raff 2017, IGT Glera Vino Frizzante: crisp wine with white flowers aromas and hints of herbs (July 2019).
