This Château Engarran is a French red wine produced in Languedoc in the Grés de Montpellier area with a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre grapes. The color of its 2015 vintage is dark. Its nose is charming with aromas of black and red fruits as well as notes of plums. The palate is full and elegant. We experience again the black fruits of the nose with some spicy notes. Some tannins are still noticeable in a long finish that makes me think that this wine could still age for some time. The Château de l’Engarran is a historic area of Languedoc that was mentioned already in the 17th century. The vineyards of the Grés de Montpellier appellations have gravelly soils (pebbles and gravel) and are located on the hill around the Château Engarran.
