Grenoli is a white wine produced by the Liedholm winery in the Piemonte area of Italy with Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes. As these grapes are not included in the traditional grapes of the area, this wine has no DOC or DOCG, but is labeled as “table wine” (vino da tavola). The Liedholm winery was a family-owned operation started by former Milan AC Swedish football player Nils Liedholm. In 2015, the control was transferred to the Società Agricola Monte Ferrato.
Currently the company owns about 10 hectares of vineyards and the total production is around 60/65.000 bottles annually. The grapes for the Grenoli are harvested in two steps, first for Chardonnay in late August / early September, whose must is kept cold waiting for the maturation of Sauvignon Blanc, which is harvested 10/15 days later. After assembly, the must ferments for 15 days in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The Grenoli is a golden wide-body wine with perfumes of vanilla, yellow fruits and white flowers. Nice vanilla aromas are enjoyed in the palate with some hints of cream and butter. Long finish.
