Hexagon Tinto 2015, José Maria da Fonseca, Portugal

The Hexagon Tinto is a red blend produced by the José Maria da Fonseca winery in the Setubal area of Portugal. The wine is produced with the Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinto Cão, Syrah and Tannat.

The grapes are foot-trodden in stainless-steel presses and fermented with full skin contact at temperatures of 28ºC for 6 days. The alcoholic fermentation is finished in oak casks. The wine is then aged 10 months in new French oak casks. There were only 8500 bottles produced of the 2015 vintage of the Hexagon Tinto that has a purple color. Nose: licorice, dry plum, red flowers and cinnamon. Mouth: velvet, fine tannins, plum, chocolate.
